This parameter is initially received (along with other parameters) when a message sent to a short code and keyword service is retrieved. The rbid parameter is then used when sending a premium SMS back to a handset, as it contains your authority to charge the recipient the tariff of your short code service.
The rbid parameter’s value is generated by the consumer’s local network when a text is sent in to a short code service.
When sending back a premium message to the original sender of the inbound message, the message is actually sent to the rbid value, not to the handset. The rbid contains hashed details of the handset number and the shortcode/keyword service to which the message relates.
